For over 25 years I have been the host and producer of Caribe Latino on WKCR 89.9 FM-NY. Prior to that I would DJ college parties playing Freestyle, House and Hip-Hop. In 1995 while a student at Columbia University, I was invited to takeover Caribe Latino and I began digging into my father’s record collection. I soon realized how little I knew about my culture and Latin music in general. So I produced a show in which the audience and I went on a journey of discovery. I’ve has the honor of interviewing, Ray Barretto, Johnny Pacheco, Johnny Ventura, Orlando Marin, Angel Justiniano and George Rodriguez of the New Swing Sextet, and Joe Bataan among many others.
